Those who took the first body parts class will want to check this session out! This will be a class focusing on individual human body parts, and will not have a finished project at the end. You will, however, have some very fine looking hands, feet & torsos to take home. This is very useful whether you want to sculpt realistic humans or would rather make goblins & aliens. Be prepared to stare at your classmates and get clay all over yourself. Really, it's a lot of fun.

This is a Special “guild members only” Coaching & Instruction session opportunity with Hide Igaki.
Drop-in coaching sessions for throwers with intermediate & advanced skills. Have an idea for a form you’d like to make? Having problems throwing taller than 8 or 10 or ?? inches? Or just want to brush up on some basics? Hide would be glad to coach you to success.
**NOTE**: Due to Hide’s travel schedule with the Karate team, there will be times he can not make it. He will make every effort to let people know his schedule ahead of time. If in doubt, call or email.
  • What: Free Standing Birdhouse
  • Instructor: TBA
  • When:
    • Mar. 27th - Apr. 10th 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Cost: $80 includes clay, firings and the base to make it free-standing.
You know that funky birdhouse standing by the front door of the guild? That’s what we will be building in this class. We will be using basic slab construction techniques, and embellishing with lots of textures. Bring anything you think would make a good texture on your clay.
  • What: Pizza Baker Workshop
  • Instructor: TBA
  • When:
    • Apr. 5th 9:00am - 1:00pm
  • Cost: $65 includes firings & clay
No Wheels, No Slab Rollers or Extruders! We won’t need them. You will be using very primitive hand building techniques to make a pizza baker that can be used on a gas burner. Pizzas come out with a crisp-crust and are, I must say, delicious. (A pizza party will be in order after the final results to show off our culinary skills!)
Raku!!
  • What: June Raku workshop with Bob Smith!
  • Instructor: Bob Smith
  • When:
    • June 7th & 8th, 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Cost: $85
  • Maximum number: 15 Minimum number: 10
  • Lunch will be provided
Bob Smith will be teaching a two-day workshop over this weekend. Saturday morning, Bob will demonstrate his throwing techniques and discuss the raku process. In the afternoon, he will be finishing additional pieces including the “how-to’s” of glazing. Sunday will be about glazing and firing with the group’s participation. Plan to bring 1-2 smaller pieces for this process so we can ensure everyone’s pieces are fired. Bob will be including several techniques including ferric chloride. He would be happy to critique pieces of your work and have an in-depth question and answer session. This class is sure to fill up fast so get registered soon!

You may submit the registration form (below) by email, below, but remember that a space in class is not guaranteed until payment is made to the Guild.
